Water Rights Notification Tool

  • AGAI Members are encouraged to sign up for the Water Rights Notification Tool

DNRC developed the Water Rights Notification Tool (WRNT) to deliver timely, targeted information to users who may be impacted by new water right permit and change applications. Users can narrow down the types of applications they want to be notified about by source type, basin (to look up your administrative basin, use this map), and county. The WRNT then sends email alerts when any application within the selected parameters reaches key milestones in DNRC’s review process.

  • For applications received on or after January 1, 2024, the Notification Tool will email an alert when an application within your parameters reaches any of the following five key steps:

    1. Application posted to DNRC website.

    2. Correct and complete determination.

    3. Draft Preliminary Determination 4. available and 30-day public comment period initiated.

    4. Preliminary Determination available, and objection period initiated if public comments were received on the Draft Preliminary Determination.

    5. Permit or change authorization issued.

  • For applications filed prior to January 1, 2024, the WRNT will generate emails for the following steps in the process:

    1. Application posted to DNRC website.

    2. Correct and complete determination.

    3. Beginning of objection period.

    4. Permit or change authorization issued.
